The OWASP Mobile Application Security Verification Standard (MASVS) is the industry standard for mobile application security. It provides a comprehensive set of security controls that can be used to assess the security of mobile apps across various platforms (e.g., Android, iOS) and deployment scenarios (e.g., consumer, enterprise). The standard covers the key components of the mobile app attack surface, including storage, cryptography, authentication and authorization, network communication, interaction with the mobile platform, code quality and resilience against reverse engineering and tampering.

Module 1 - RATs (Remote Access Trojan)

At this stage, we will play with some of the most common types of RATs.

AhMyth RAT
AhMyth is a variant of Android malware that works like a remote Access Trojan (RAT). It usually impersonates legitimate apps to gain access to users' devices. Once there, the Malware it can steal a wide range of sensitive information using keyloggers, screenshots, camera access, and SMS messages.

Andro RAT
AndroRAT is disguised as an Android utility application called TrashCleaner, downloaded from a malicious URL. When opened, TrashCleaner prompts the user to download a Chinese-language calculator application before hiding its icon in the UI. Once hidden ,it will initiate command and control communications.

The Fat RAT
TheFatRat" is an open-source penetration testing tool used to generate backdoors and payloads, often described in the context of creating a Remote Access Trojan (RAT). It is designed for educational and authorised security testing purposes, not malicious use.

Evil Droid
"Evil droid trojan" is a general term used sensationally to refer to various sophisticated Trojan horse malware programs that target the Android operating system. These malicious programs use deceptive methods to infect devices and steal sensitive data, commit financial fraud, or hijack system resources.
